Real-Time Eye AF for Human
Real-time Eye AF provides continuous eye tracking when shooting portraits in motion. You can prioritize either the left or the right eye, and it works even when the face is partially hidden, backlit, or facing downward.
Real-Time Eye AF for Animal
Sony's innovative eye-detection algorithms have been adapted to animal as well as human, to give you sharply focused pet portraits and beautiful wildlife shots.
Auto Focus you can Rely on
The camera's wide AF coverage is based on dense arrays of 425 phase-detection points and 425 contrast-detection points, for greatly increased detection accuracy. Fast performance from the latest-generation processing engine helps achieve a remarkable 0.02-second AF acquisition speed, while advanced algorithms work to predict your subject's future location.
Fast Continuous Shooting at up to 11 Frames Per Second
Impressively speedy internal processing and the high-capacity buffer memory mean you can fire off continuous shots at up to 11 fps5 with after-view or 8 fps5 for real-time preview, with minimal display lag. You can take around 77 shots6 in JPEG (Standard) format in one continuous burst.
Silent Continuous Shooting at up to 8 fps
Silent shooting is helpful in situations where noise would be distracting, such as at live performances or when taking animal portraits. The α6100 can shoot continuously without shutter noise at up to 8 fps7 with AF/AE tracking, even in AF-C mode, and with Real-time Eye AF or with Real-time Tracking.
Superior Image Resolution and Natural-Looking Textures
The APS-C sensor uses copper wiring for better conductivity and enhanced circuit processing to help optimize light-collection efficiency. In conjunction with the latest-generation image processing engine, this enables better image resolution and natural-looking textures.
Cleaner Images in Dimly Lit Settings
Improved noise suppression produces cleaner images in dark settings where high-sensitivity shooting is required. The native ISO sensitivity reaches a maximum ISO 32000, with expanded ISO sensitivity up to ISO 51200 for stills. Noise reduction is particularly effective in the frequently used medium-to-high sensitivity range.

The skin tone feature inherited from our latest, highly acclaimed full-frame cameras captures the natural beauty of human skin tones, helping you take portraits that look their best.
Realistic Color Reproduction
Natural-looking images with improved color reproduction better match what you see in real life, with more vibrant colors of flowers and similar objects as well as suppression of jaggies and false colors.
High-Resolution 4K Movie Recording
Full pixel readout, with no pixel binning, processes approximately 2.4 times8 as much information as is required for 4K (QFHD: 3840 x 2160) recording9, to produce movies with extraordinary detail, depth, and realism.
Touch Tracking for Movies
The camera's Touch Tracking feature provides smooth, continuous focus tracking of your subject, and it can be activated with a simple touch of the display screen.
Expand your Movie-Making Options
The camera can directly record movies in slow motion (up to 5x) and quick motion (up to 60x), without the need for PC post-processing.
External Mic Input for High-Quality Audio
The α6100 is equipped with an external microphone jack, giving you greater options for audio, to suit serious movie shooting and high-quality vlogging.
Self-Framing Made Easy
It's easy to frame yourself for vlog recording and selfie shots thanks to the camera's LCD monitor, which tilts upward through a full 180 degrees.
Flexible Low-Angle Shooting
The monitor tilts upward by 180° and downward by 74°, letting you more easily frame up your subject when shooting from low or high angles.
Convenient Touch Tracking and Touch Focus Features
Once you have set Touch Tracking in the menu you can select your subject simply by touching the monitor. Whether you're taking stills or movies, the camera will begin auto-tracking. The Touch Focus feature is also simple to use just touch the appropriate point on the monitor to set the focus.

Buy The a6400 if you are focused on video
as the title says, Buy The a6400 if you are focused on video more than focused on photography as this camera is lacking a lot of features that are needed for good post production value. I made the mistake of not getting the a6400 which would have suited my needs more, and now im just stuck with this camera as i am not in the position to return and get the a6400. Things such as colour profiles, and the build quality in general to record in different environmental and weather conditions lack on this model. Don't get me wrong, its a great camera, but for my use value, its 1/5. For photography however, easy 5/5.

Great camera for the all-round amateur
Getting back into photography again after a long break, I switched from a big DSLR (not Sony) to this model as I wanted to downsize my kit. This is a great camera for an amateur. The picture and video quality is great. For an all-rounder who does a bit of street, landscape, nature and casual family photography, this is great device. I also bought a Sony 50mm lens which has a wider aperture than the kit lens (included with my camera) and I have been very happy with the results. Only note is that this model is not waterproof at all (so in hindsight I should have the A6400), but otherwise a very happy customer!

Great walkabout camera.
I bought this camera for its compact size and the APS-C sensor which is larger than the sensors on bridge cameras. A friend of mine has the A6000 so I knew that the results would be really good. Equipped with the Sony Zeiss 16-70 lens, which gives the 35mm. equivalent range 24-135, you have a camera that will be fine for most occasions. I have wide angle and tele-photo lenses if needed. There are more sophisticated cameras in the Sony A 6 range but you would have to decide if the extra features are worth the cost for you.

Amazing one! A6100
I bought the A6100 in January and after a long consideration which camera to buy, I'm honestly very happy with my choice! Features are amazing, autofocus performance is top-notch and image quality is just amazing! While you might need some getting used to with the menu, this might be a small tradeoff for a great camera. Best value for money in APS-C mirrorless world!
