Beam Tweeters

X-Balanced Speaker Unit
The up-firing speakers, built-in subwoofer and front speaker feature an X-Balanced Speaker Unit. The unique rectangular shape of these speakers maximises the diaphragm area for more punchy bass. It also reduces driver excursion while maintaining sound pressure, resulting in less distortion and greater vocal clarity.
Extended Bass
It takes a lot of power to accurately reproduce low bass frequencies and there’s often a risk of distortion (A). To combat this, the HT-A5000 uses Sony’s unique signal processing technology to deliver dynamic extended bass, at any volume level (B). Built-in Subwoofer
Delivers high sound pressure for clear, deep bass. This has been achieved by expanding the area of the diaphragm and the size of the subwoofer (X-Balanced Speaker Unit).
Clearer Voice
The deeper the bass sound, the more the speaker diaphragm moves. This can cause an effect called phase modulation distortion when a full-range diaphragm needs to simultaneously reproduce higher frequencies. Sony's unique signal processing technology compensates for this effect for clearer dialogue and more localized sound. The improvements in the modulated waveform enhance clarity and help prevent vocal distortion.
